Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who can go to the youth group? A: Anyone who is in middle school or high school (6th through 12th grade).

Q: Is it only for Chinese youth? A: No! Over the years we have had students born in Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States take part in our activities and programs. While many of our youth come from a Chinese background, we are very happy to have youth from any background come be a part of our group. Also, we have many people come who don't have a Christian background. That's ok too! We enjoy discussion and sharing about Jesus with anyone who is interested.

Q: Why is it called 24/7? A: Our goal as a youth ministry is to help parents raise teens who love Jesus and who live for him every day. The every day part is where the 24/7 comes in. We want to encourage each other to live for God at school, at home, and wherever we go all week. We don't want to encourage Sunday morning Christianity where youth feel pressure to dress, talk and act in a way which has no relation to their every day life. We want to be real, to be genuine. We want to become 24/7 Christians.

Q: How can you accomplish your goal of helping parents raise teens who love Jesus and who live for him every day? A: We will do this as we REACH non-believing students, CONNECT them with other Christians, help them GROW in their faith, and challenge the growing to DISCOVER their ministry and HONOR God with their lives. All of our programs and activities will be chosen and evaluated according to this purpose statement.

Q: How can I or my teen get involved? Just show up at any of our regular programs and we'll be thrilled to see you. Once here another teen will spend time with your teen making sure they fit into the group and meet new people. We will ask your teen to fill out an information card so we can stay in touch with your family. You can also use the info on the contact page to contact our youth director personally.

Q: How do I know what's happening in the youth group? Check the calendar page to see a list of activities and regular programs. Check the this week page to see current youth announcements. Or, give our youth director your contact information if you wish to receive our weekly email announcement and our monthly parent newsletter. Youth who attend the Youth Bible Study each Sunday at 3:30pm will be updated with announcements and deadlines.
